Description

Machin U178 Single 9p NFCP 2005

Yellow-orange.

De La Rue Dunstable  Printing.

Issued 5th April 2005, printed at the Dunstable works with PVA (cream) gum.

Original printings of the De La Rue (DLR) Machins with PVA (cream) gum had the DLR logo situated adjacent to the first stamp in row 20 (ie bottom left). The 9p value was originally issued in July 2005 and had the logo. However, this denomination was reissued on 1st April 2008, because of changes to the postal rates, but without the DLR logo. It does not appear that Gibbons have issued a new number as this “re-issue” is still called U178. (Presumably because the  actual stamps are identical, and only collectors of cylinder blocks would notice the difference!). We have a Date block with 10/01/08 as the actual date of print for this item.          Similarly the 46p value also has a reprint without the DLR logo.

Specialised GB QEII Vol 4 Part 1 catalogue number U178.

Unmounted mint and in pristine condition

Machin U178 Single 9p 2005 from Cylinder D1 Phos D1 No Dot, and an actual print date of 10/01/08.

Unmounted mint and in pristine condition.

INFORMATION SOURCES:

First of all, stamps will be well packaged and sent by Royal Mail. Therefore please see our Shop menu for postal options.  Postage

We also only charge postage for the first item in most cases. Thus any further items purchased would not increase the final postal charges.  Furthermore we do not charge you for envelopes and packaging.

Recorded Delivery or Registered Post is also available if required. If one of these options is taken, compensation for loss or damage can be claimed.

We mention Stanley Gibbons catalogue numbers where it is possible. These numbers are either from the “Concise Stamp Catalogue” or from the “Specialised Stamp Catalogue Volume 4 Part 1”. We will try to mention any other numbering that we may use if not covered by the above. Sometimes particular stamps, Smilers sheets, booklets, miniature sheets, or cylinder blocks are not recognized anywhere. Hence, in this case, we would use our own expertise to describe and value that  item.

In conclusion, all of our stamps are unmounted mint and in an excellent condition. We will mention any variation to this statement.

Please let us know if we have made a mistake with this description.
