Prestige Pane ERROR Christian. UEP17X Whiter Reverse

“The Story of our Christian Heritage”.

Issued 4th September 1984.

From Prestige Booklet DX5. Pane number 1.

First pane comprising six copies of the 17p stamp coloured grey-blue.

Printed by Harrison in Photogravure. The paper is also advanced coated paper (ACP). The gum is polyvinyl alcohol with Dextrin added (PVAD).

Specialised catalogue (volume 4 part 1) pane number UEP17 containing U247 x six.

Connoisseur Catalogue (10th Edition) number: CCDP72.

Gibbon’s Concise (2023) catalogue number X952l valued at £1.50 (containing number x952 x six).

The Reverse side is much whiter than on a normal pane. As the difference is not apparent from the front, the variety seems to be gum related. The difference under a long-wave ultraviolet lamp is VERY obvious.

Not catalogued by Gibbons…………

Unmounted mint and also in pristine condition.

PS Don’t be misled into buying prestige panes that have been detached from the first row of rouletting. We also often see them advertised as normal panes.

First of all, Royal Mail will handle your order. Therefore please see our Shop menu for postal options:  Postage We only charge postage for the first item in most cases. Thus any further items purchased would not increase the final postal charges. Furthermore we do not charge you for envelopes and packaging.

Recorded Delivery or Registered Post is also available if required. Loss or damage compensation can be claimed, therefore, if this option is taken.

We mention Stanley Gibbons catalogue numbers where it is possible. These numbers are either from the “Concise Stamp Catalogue” or from the “Specialised Stamp Catalogue Volume 4 Part 1”. We will try to mention any other numbering that we may use if not covered by the above. Sometimes particular stamps,  booklets, or cylinder blocks are not recognized anywhere. Hence, in this case, we would use our own expertise to describe and value that  item.

In conclusion, all of our stamps are unmounted mint and in an excellent condition. We will mention any variation to this statement.

Please let us know if we have made a mistake with this description.
