Description

Machin U248d Single 17p FCP PVAD 1984 Short Band

Grey-blue.

Printed by Harrison & Sons Limited in Photogravure on Fluorescent Coated Paper (FCP). The gum is PolyVinyl Alcohol Dextrin (PVAD).

Issued 4th September 1984. Two phosphor bands.

The only source of this scarce 17p issue is from Prestige Pane UEP19. The U248d is found 0n the third pane of the “Christian Heritage” Prestige Booklet DX5 (only one stamp per pane!). The right-hand phosphor band is deliberately short at the top to prevent the phosphor encroaching onto the ’13p band at left (U219)’  directly above.

Stanley Gibbons Great Britain Queen Elizabeth II Specialised Catalogue Volume 4 Part 1 catalogue number U248c.

NOT listed in the Stanley Gibbons Concise catalogue.

INFORMATION SOURCES:

First of all, stamps will be well packaged and sent by Royal Mail. Therefore please see our Shop menu for postal options.  Postage

We only charge postage for the first item in most cases. Thus any further items purchased would not increase the final postal charges.  Furthermore we do not charge you for envelopes and packaging.

Recorded Delivery or Registered Post is also available if required. If one of these options is taken, compensation for loss or damage can be claimed.

We mention Stanley Gibbons catalogue numbers where it is possible. These numbers are either from the “Concise Stamp Catalogue” or from the “Specialised Stamp Catalogue Volume 4 Part 1”. We will try to mention any other numbering that we may use if not covered by the above. Sometimes particular stamps, Smilers sheets, booklets, miniature sheets, or cylinder blocks are not recognized anywhere. Hence, in this case, we would use our own expertise to describe and value that  item.

In conclusion, all of our stamps are unmounted mint and in an excellent condition. We will mention any variation to this statement.

Please let us know if we have made a mistake with this description.
