Booklet MB4a Machin W3 Cylinder Smiler’s Advert.

This booklet was produced to see if other Royal Mail products could be advertised via the stamp booklets.

Royal Mail Philatelic Bureau Stock Number UB255. The issue date was 22nd March 2005.

The inside cover shows the Smiler’s advertisment with a baby. It also has the Smiler’s ‘Hello’ stamp, number 2262.

Issued 27th January 2005 and printed by Walsall Security Printers. The Walsall imprint is 29mm instead of the normal 35mm.

Cylinder number W3. However, the phosphor number was not printed on initial printings. Consequently these booklets do NOT show the phosphor cylinder number.

There are also two phosphor bands on these stamps.

Concise (2017) catalogue number of the pane is MB4a, containing six 1st class gold stamps no. 2295 is valued at £8.50 for normal booklet.

Specialised catalogue number of the booklet is MB4a, with the pane numbered UJPW10. This contains 6 x UJW6 gold first class stamps. Issue date 27th January 2005.
